The Sampoong collapse
On the afternoon of 29 June 1995 the Sampoong department store came down in a little over twenty seconds, and 502 people died. Not because there was no blueprint, but because the blueprint that existed was erased one line at a time. Columns thinned. An unplanned floor added. Heavy equipment on the roof.
